In the beginning, using nature when decorating our home was pretty much the only choice I had. Quite frankly, we had no extra money to spend on adornments and I longed for a beautiful and inviting home. This ranch provided an abundance of Mother Nature's ingredients and just the things I needed to bring my heart's desires to fruition.

No doubt, it was Wade who introduced me to the splendor which was all around me. This was before we had planted our own gardens and were living with a 'natural' yard; one with Sage Brush, Yucca plants, rocks and prairie grasses.(photo above)
It still amazes me how one square foot of ground is host to so many different native plants in this Montana country. At any given time of year, these natural elements radiate beauty, whether in bloom or after they have completed that season's life cycle. Dried grasses are just as lovely as a flower in bloom...in my humble opinion!
Check out all of the makings for a bouquet here! That's a wild rose with tiny pink buds on the right, along with dried grasses and sage.
My husband still brings these Montana treasures into our home when the mood strikes him and for this, I am lucky. He has a real talent for seeing what the land is providing, then putting those gifts together in an unassuming yet glorious display which is presented to me when I least expect it. How he can think of me and my wish to have beauty in our home while out working on the ranch, I'll never know.
I do know that the next time Wade shows up with one of his creations I will promptly photograph it so that I can post it's loveliness here for all to see!
