Meet The Groom ~ Matt Hauger
Country Weddings ~ Denver

Meet the groom ~ Matt Hauger ~ from our Denver Wedding Feature

Matt really was the perfect child, just ask him!

His mom Cheryl tells the story of how she woke up in a panic the first night he was home because he had not cried once. Thinking something was not right she rushed over to see him peacefully sleeping, as if he didn't have a care in the world.

Matt still lives this way, laid back, while just letting things roll off his shoulders.

baby boy

Being by far the youngest, with his siblings being 7, 9, and 11 years older, he got away with murder.

In grade school matt had the lead role in the school play taken away form him because he hit a teacher (A NUN!!!) with a spit wad.

To the surprise of his parents (and the rest of the family that they had invited) they showed up the night of the play to find matt sitting silently in the front row.

Mamma's Boy

Through it all, no denying that this little blonde, blue eyed boy had a face that more than a mother could love.

Stunts like, tying the Nintendo remote control to the railing of the stairs and swinging down like Indian Jones, just made her love him more.

Believe it or not, this seemingly perfect child did have the occasional talking to. On one such event, he refused to go to his room by looking at is dad David and telling him, "You can't tell me what to do, MOMMY'S boss!".

Boys Will Be Boys

Little boys suffer all types of 'bruises and blisters', matt was the epitome of pushing the limits, his was more like 'breaks and bashings'.

Matt has had numerous broken bones, many surgeries and procedures and even more stitches. And true to his nature only mouths before his own wedding he had yet another ACL knee replacement surgery.

Matt Lives and Breathes Competition

baseball boy

Since a very young age matt has had a passion for sports. He learned the value of a team when he started baseball at the age of 5, and to always dodge a moving bat when he started catching at the age of 9.

Making a deal with matt, Mom would bake him a pie if he made an extra base hit. Cheryl watched her son hit a double on his first at bat of the day. All she could see was matt standing on second base rubbing his belly.

This deal was made every game, up until his last game ever in high school when he hit a 2 run home run. He ended the season with a game ball and a cherry pie.

Although baseball was his favorite matt also participated in football (winning state two years in high school) and wrestling. And in the 6th grade, his basketball team went the distance with the help of his dad as the head couch.

From Grass Stains to Button Ups

dad and baby son

Matt may never grow out of cast and cherry pie, but he is now growing with Baylee. It may not be winning state but the Hauger Kinkelaar wedding day, while surrounded by friends and family, is sure to be a day he won't soon forget.

We hope you enjoyed popping in to

Congratulations Matt and Baylee!
