Baylee's Story...The first time I met Matt, I was at a friend's birthday party. It was July of 2004. Matt had come to the party with some girls he worked with at "Mexican Express", which were also friend's of mine. He remembers thinking that I was so weird because I was outside, on the street, with no shoes on. The only thing I thought of him at the time was, that "the hippy needs a haircut!"
Homecoming 2004Later that fall, Matt started school at Erie High School; it was my second year there. We were juniors then and it was the first week of football and volleyball. Two of us volleyball girls were preparing and waiting for practice to start when we saw a boy standing at the end of the gym. "Fresh Meat", we thought, and we decided to get a better look (not remembering that I had met him the month before). My friend went first, 'missing' the ball that then bounced over to the new boy. "Not bad looking", she said, so it was my turn. Me being me, I wanted to show off a little so I got back for my approach and hit the ball as hard as I could in the direction of the new boy. The ball hit my hand at such an angle, that after striking the wall, it bounced off and hit the poor, new kid right in the side of the head!
I must have knocked something loose that day. I became his girlfriend not long after, on September 17th, 2004. After only a few dates, we were in love. Explore More of Our Country Wedding Pages |
