Fresh Apple Cake Recipe

fresh red and green apples

Here is a fresh apple cake recipe that your family and guests will love.

Apple Cake Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups Diced Fresh Apples ~ I prefer Granny Smith apples
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
  • 2 beaten Eggs
  • 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour (or White Flour)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Directions For Fresh Apple Cake:

Mix apples and sugar. Add oil, nuts, eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and add to apple mixture.

Bake in a 9 X 13 greased pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove when toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Place pan to cool on a wire rack.

Cream Cheese Frosting Perfect For Any Apple Cake Recipe

Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 4 oz. Package Cream Cheese
  • 1 stick Butter (1/2 Cup)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
Cream the butter, vanilla and cream cheese with an electric mixer. My Kitchen Aid stand mixer is ideal for this task!

Add the sugar and whip on a high speed until fluffy (about 2 minutes on #8 if using your Kitchen Aid stand mixer) and spread over the cooled cake.

Enjoy this Fresh Apple Cake ~ We especially like it in the fall using freshly picked apples from our own tree.
