Easy Peach Pie Filling

Load your favorite crust with this easy peach pie filling and have a fresh from the oven country dessert even during the most hectic times.


This Easy Pie Recipe Is Splendid For a Beginning Baker

Are you a beginning baker? Try this easy pie recipe and build your confidence with success the first time around! If you don't want to try making a crust from scratch, buy frozen pastry circles from the grocery store!



INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Cans (29 ounces each) sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix ingredients in bowl-Pour into a prepared 9" pie shell and dot with butter.

Avoid boiling over your filling during baking and use one of these ingenious pie pans~I don't bake pies without mine! There is a lip on the edge which catches juices that want to creep out of the crust and over the sides during baking.



Cover with top crust and flute edge. Cut slits in top of pie for venting. Cover edge with 2-3 inch strip of aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning; remove foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Better yet, use what I do~a handy pie shield instead of tin foil! Oh, you will love having a set of these shields. Applying tin foil can damage your lovely fluted edges, but a pie shield is easy to place over and protect your hard work. It's also easy to remove during the last minutes of baking.



Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake in center of oven until the crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust; 35-45 minutes.

No One Will Know You Made a Canned Peach Pie!

I think this recipe is so close in taste to fresh that people will not be able to tell you have made a canned peach pie.

Of course, fresh is always best, but when you compare the time it takes to slip the skins, pit and cut up fresh peaches and then add the longer baking time~it's a no brainer that if you are in a hurry, canned peach pie is the way to go!

There aren't very many people who don't enjoy a peach dessert and if it is in the form of pie, none of your diners will be disappointed! And if you use this easy peach pie recipe, you won't have to spend the whole afternoon in the kitchen.
