One of the nicest compliments I can ever receive is when someone says we have a 'homey' home. Of course, my family and I think it is homey...it is our home! Everyone is comfortable in their own place, but to have a guest feel that way when in mine is what my objective is when decorating. Most times I feel that mission is accomplished, although there is always more to be done and our home really will never be finished. That's the fun of it though!
