Country collectibles are the right arm of any down home decorating theme.
Country Collections can consist of antiques or be made up of newer items which are mostly man-made. However, there are many people who collect items from nature, such as rocks, bird nests, feathers, seashells and the like.
In a country home, the majority of folks are collecting vintage, antique or natural items. Rarely is there a country room that doesn't feature an accumulation of favorite pieces, grouped together for impact.

My Favorite Finds: Flea Market Journal
Has lots of shopping tips and fleamarket information, a zipped pocket for stashing stuff, and tons of room to jot down notes.
It is probably safe to say that all collectors begin their passion at a very young age which continues to grow and evolve throughout their lifetime. Of course, what a person collects depends on their interests and perhaps where they live or do for a living.
Avid collectors are of all personalities; some meticulously organizing and cataloguing their treasures while others are happy to simply amass their collectibles on a shelf, sharing the details of each item from memory with anyone who shows an interest.
Regardless of how or what a person collects, in real country living, those vintage country collectibles become an integral part of the home and reflect the owner's personality in every display.
Stoneware is basically man-made stone and is made primarily from clay. Pottery and stoneware pieces are some of the most popular antiques and collectibles in country homes.
My Humble White Pottery Collection

Vintage Game Boards are a very popular collector's item. They are perfect for real country living with their vibrant colors faded and worn from decades of use.

Deena
I am not one of those collectors who started their accumulations at a young age. When I was a little girl, I don't recall gathering anything in mass. Maybe I was too busy playing baseball, riding bikes or swimming in the lake.
Things sure change, however, and now my home is filled with items I love which end up grouped together either by color or purpose. My interest in history draws me towards things with a story to tell. Even if I have to imagine that story, my collections make me feel connected to the past. I particularly enjoy using antique dishes and tableware that was once prized by someone from another time.

Recently retired couple, Larry and Georgia Kopka, are now afforded more opportunities to camp along the North American west coast.
Beautiful beaches entice Larry to cast a fishing line while Georgia enjoys spending time walking along the shore. Pieces of antique blue glass, shells and abalone catch Georgia's keen eye and are naturally tumbled by the surf and sand. The blue-green glass pieces are a particular favorite of this collector.
All of her found treasures eventually fill tiny jars and are proudly displayed all over the Kopka home. "Larry fishes and I scan the beach", she says. "It's a good way for me to pass the time while he's trying to catch the big one!"
Georgia's collection shows that not all items need to come at a steep price to be beautiful and highly valued. Affordable collectibles are the quickest way to bring a touch of the country feel to your home.
