My name is Deena and I am happily married to Wade, my partner of over twenty five years. We are blessed with five children; three boys and two girls.
Wade was raised on the cattle ranch we now own and operate, while I lived in a number of cities throughout most of my childhood. After we married, Wade was employed by his father on this ranch until we were able to purchase the land and work it for ourselves.
All five children had joined us not long after our tenth anniversary. This ranch has been the most wonderful place to raise our family! Our children have been privileged to things others might only dream about~like having Santa bring them a pony for Christmas! Sure, our kids have been those same dreamers at times; wishing to know what it was like to live in town and be closer to their friends. There is always a give and take! Nobody ever really 'has it all'. I think it's safe to say that all five are glad to have grown up right here though.
Making the transition from city to country was quite a journey for me. For the first several years, the novelty of seeing something new every day was refreshing and interesting. After that 'phase', I went through a time of missing the city's convenience and bustle. Since I was married at age 19, it only took that many years to reach the point where I had lived in the country as long as I hadn't! That was the pinnacle for me; by then I loved this country life and never wished for anything different.
Country living can be as trying as any lifestyle, but the rewards are like nothing we've ever known. We hope to share the reality of our way of life through this website. May it provide pieces of country living that can be arranged into your own version of bliss.
